GOAL
Get familiar with the biomimicry methodology as a source of knowledge for solving challenges in the field of Smart Transportation, while being exposed to a variety of examples and practice
Nature is a huge source of knowledge and an innovation engine. By understanding the underlying design principles and patterns in nature, breakthrough materials, technologies, and processes have been developed. Innovation inspired by nature is nowadays a methodological process called biomimicry. Various methods and tools enable to tap systematically into nature’s solutions and use them as a source for innovation.
This workshop opened a door to the biomimicry world, while providing examples of innovative applications relevant to Smart Transportation. During the workshop, various tools for innovative design inspired by nature were presented and practiced, including databases and searching methods.
Instructor: Dr. Yael Helfman Cohen, Domain expert in the field of biomimicry. Co-Founder and CEO of the Israeli Biomimicry organization, an NGO promoting the field of Biomimicry in Israel. Founder of Nature Code, a consulting firm leading biomimetic innovation processes. A lecturer in the field of biomimicry in academia and industry.
Facilitator: Tchiya Allon, General Manager, ISTRC
