Future Mobility IL (FMI) is a non-profit, public benefit organization established in 2017 aimed at creating and promoting efficient and sustainable mobility alternatives in order to alleviate traffic congestion and provide solutions to Israel’s transportation crisis. The organization’s goals include improving accessibility, productivity and quality of life, as well as reducing the number of traffic accidents and decreasing air pollution. FMI serves as a conduit bringing innovative solutions that will positively impact the unsustainable reality that currently prevails on Israel’s roadways. To do so, the organization focuses on effective solutions that utilize existing infrastructures and can have immediate impact in reducing traffic congestion. Having formed a wide coalition that includes leading mobility industries, large-scale employers, government, and academic institutes, FMI works to effect policy change through localized interventions that will demonstrate the advantages of adopting new transportation solutions.

The Robotraffic Competition is an initiative of the Leumi Robotics Center in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion. Its aim is to teach safer driving through robotic competition. The main challenge of the competition is to build an autonomous robotic car that can move according to the traffic rules, e.g. traffic lights, signs signals, and keep safe distance.

The 12th Nadav Shoham Robotraffic Competition took place virtually on March 6–10, 2022.
