Smart Transportation research is interdisciplinary in nature and hence requires collaboration between researchers from different fields and academic departments and institutions, together with a constant dialogue among industry, academy and decision makers.
Therefore, the Israeli Smart Transportation Research Center focuses on promoting the Smart Transportation discipline in four main activities:

• Promote Smart Transportation research collaboration among industry-academy-decision makers (applied research)
• Establish an up-to-date researchers' database and an active academic community
• Establish Research and Development portal (knowledge center)
• Empower human capital
